The 20-time English champions will pay a base package worth £106 million, with potential add-ons rising to £17 million, according to the BBC. The Athletic reported that the 23-year-old is set to sign a five-year contract, making him the latest high-profile addition to new manager Andoni Iraola's squad.

Barcola had two years remaining on his PSG contract after joining the French capital side from boyhood club Olympique Lyonnais in 2023. During his stint at PSG, he made 152 appearances in all competitions, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists. His trophy-laden spell included back-to-back Champions League titles in 2024-25 and 2025-26, three Ligue 1 crowns, and two French Cups.

Barcola becomes the latest close-season arrival under Iraola, joining Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo (on loan), French centre-back Jeremy Jacquet, and Spanish forward Victor Munoz. The Merseyside club is reshaping its front line following Mohamed Salah's departure and a long-term injury to forward Hugo Ekitike, with attacking options currently featuring British record signing Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo, Rio Ngumoha, and Munoz.
