England sealed their first home Test series victory in two years on Sunday, August 30, 2026, defeating Pakistan by 194 runs in the second Test at Lord's. Chasing an unlikely target of 389, the visiting side was bowled out for 194.
After a rain-affected Saturday, England resumed day four on 177-7 and were eventually bowled out for 208. Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Abbas helped mop up the lower order to complete a five-wicket haul.
Pakistan's run chase started disastrously, tumbling to 7-2 as Ollie Robinson tore through the top order. Robinson trapped Azan Awais lbw with a delivery nipping back off a length before bowling Abdullah Shafique three balls later with a delivery that clipped the top of off stump.
Jofra Archer added to Pakistan's troubles before lunch, leaving them reeling at 14-3 when captain Babar Azam tried to fend off a bouncer, edging the ball off his helmet to Jordan Cox at third slip.
Shan Masood (26) and Saud Shakeel provided some mid-match resistance, pushing Pakistan to their highest team total of the series. Robinson broke the partnership after lunch by dismissing Masood, but Shakeel continued an entertaining knock, striking 13 fours and two sixes.
Shakeel fell just three runs short of a deserved century on 97, attempting to hit Josh Tongue over deep square leg only to be caught by Harry Brook. With Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq unable to bat due to an injury suffered on Thursday, England required only nine wickets. Tongue completed the win by dismissing Mohammad Ali.
Robinson finished with 4 for 24 in the second innings to go along with his 4 for 11 in the first, taking his series tally across the two Tests to 16 wickets. The third and final Test begins at Edgbaston on September 9.
