Sakshi Malik’s Golden Comeback | Wrestling Gold | Commonwealth Games 2022

Sakshi Malik produced a stunning comeback to win India’s gold medal in women’s freestyle wrestling at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.

Trailing 0–4 in the final, Sakshi fought back against Canada’s Ana Godinez Gonzalez before completing the comeback with a decisive fall to claim the gold medal in the women’s 62kg category.

The victory completed Sakshi Malik’s Commonwealth Games medal collection, adding gold to the bronze she won at Glasgow 2014 and the bronze she won at Gold Coast 2018. It was also a memorable return to the top of the podium for the Rio 2016 Olympic bronze medallist.
