The Indian contingent sits 14th on the Asian Games 2026 medal table with 15 medals following strong performances in badminton, weightlifting, shooting, and soft tennis.
The Indian men’s badminton team, featuring Lakshya Sen, Ayush Shetty, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and Chirag Shetty, secured a bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, after a 1-3 semifinal loss to China.
India's medal tally reached 15, placing the country 14th overall. Key highlights include weightlifter Mirabai Chanu claiming silver in the women’s 49kg category, while Jay Meena earned India’s first-ever Asian Games soft tennis medal with a bronze in men’s singles. In Wushu, Roshibina Devi Naorem grabbed silver, marking her third consecutive Asian Games medal.
Shooting provided multiple podium finishes for India. The men’s skeet team (Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Bhavtegh Singh Gill, Mairaj Ahmad Khan) and women’s skeet team (Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan, Parinaaz Dhaliwal) both earned bronze. Silver medals were captured by the women’s 10m air rifle team (Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar, Vidarsa Vinod), the men’s 10m air rifle team (Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon, Parth Mane), Elavenil Valarivan in the women’s individual 10m air rifle, and Himanshu Dhillon in the men’s individual 10m air rifle. Individual bronze medals went to Rudranksh Patil in men’s 10m air rifle and Suchika Tariyal in Women’s Traditional MMA 60 kg.
Additional medals were won in rowing, where Satnam Singh and Salman Khan took bronze in men’s double sculls. India's sole gold medal so far came on September 22, when the Harmanpreet Kaur-led women’s cricket team defeated Sri Lanka by 147 runs to defend their title. A 501-member Indian contingent (267 men and 234 women) is competing across 36 disciplines at the Games.
