Led India to three consecutive Olympic gold medals (1928 Amsterdam, 1932 Los Angeles, 1936 Berlin). Scored 570+ goals internationally. Hitler reportedly offered German citizenship after the 1936 Berlin Olympics. His birthday, 29 August, is celebrated as National Sports Day in India.
