Tushar Raheja struck a 52-ball 102 to upstage K. Aashiq's 98 as iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans pulled off a seven-wicket chase against Chepauk Super Gillies in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.
Tushar Raheja smashed his maiden Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) century to power iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans to a seven-wicket victory over Chepauk Super Gillies at the NPR College Ground on Friday. Tiruppur successfully chased down a 206-run target, reaching 206 for three in 18 overs to seal the win with two overs to spare.
Chepauk Super Gillies had earlier posted 205 for eight in 20 overs on the back of top-order batter K. Aashiq's 98 off 56 balls, which included six fours and seven sixes. Tiruppur left-arm spinner Mohan Prasath took two for 31, including the wicket of CSG's Mohana Prasath, while R. Silambarasan claimed two for 52. M. Vignesh was the top bowler for Super Gillies with three for 31.
In response, Raheja dominated the bowling attack with a 52-ball 102, hitting five boundaries and eight sixes. After taking on spinner Ashwanth Valthapa for two sixes and a four in the third over, Raheja brought up his milestone with a boundary over fine leg off Abhishek Tanwar. He combined with Pradosh Ranjan Paul (73 not out off 41 balls) for a match-winning 149-run stand for the third wicket.
In the night match, Nellai Royal Kings earned their second consecutive win by defeating Dindigul Dragons by six wickets. Dindigul posted 170 for seven in 20 overs, featuring R. Vimal Khumar's 63 and Anuraag Nair's 35, while Royal Kings skipper Sonu Yadav took three for 24 and B. Rocky claimed two for 33. Nellai Royal Kings chased down the target in 17.4 overs, finishing at 172 for four thanks to contributions from G. Ajitesh (46), Santhosh Kumar (44), U. Mukilesh (43 n.o.), and Sonu Yadav (19 n.o.).
