India's men's volleyball team secured their second consecutive straight-sets win in Pool C by defeating Hong Kong at Park Arena Komaki.
The Indian men’s volleyball team claimed their second Pool C victory at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday, defeating Hong Kong in straight sets 25-22, 25-19, 25-21 at Park Arena Komaki in Aichi-Nagoya.
In a closely contested opening set, India held their nerve to take a 1-0 lead. They carried the momentum into the second set, building an initial 13-10 advantage before closing it out 25-19. India then sealed the match by winning the third set 25-21, finishing with 75 total points to Hong Kong's 62.
The result follows India's opening 3-0 victory against Vietnam on Sunday (25-23, 25-21, 25-20 in one hour and 24 minutes). Across both matches, India have won all six sets played, outscoring their opponents 150 to 126.
India will face Qatar on Tuesday in their final Pool C match. The 16-team tournament features four groups of four, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the quarter-finals. The volleyball competition runs from September 27 to October 3.
The 12-member Indian squad, selected by the Volleyball Federation of India, features senior setter Muthusamy Appavu alongside Jerome Vinith Charles, Muhammad Nihal Chatham Kulangara, Chirag, Amit, John Joseph Eanthungal Joseph, Joel Benjamin Jebaraj, Anand Kottarathil, Om Vasant Lad, Ashwal Rai, Shikhar Singh, and Erin Varghese.
