West Ham academy graduate turned Manchester City forward Divin Mubama is catching the eye with his pre-season goals, continuing a rapid rise that has taken him from Premier League 2 top scorer to senior action under Pep Guardiola.
Divin Mubama's goal for Manchester City during a pre-season game has continued to cement his status as one of the exciting stars in the friendly matches this summer.
If Mubama continues to score goals during pre-season, he could be one of the young players Enzo Maresca considers integrating into the senior squad for the upcoming season. With his performances, Mubama certainly deserves a chance to demonstrate his qualities and play for the senior side, and his main priority will be ending the pre-season with a positive performance.
Mubama spent nine years advancing through West Ham United's youth academy, where he was an outstanding young player, scoring 58 goals in 90 games for the Hammers' academy. He finished as the highest scorer when West Ham claimed the FA Youth Cup in April 2023.
He made 18 senior outings for West Ham's first team under David Moyes before turning down a contract renewal. In August 2024, Manchester City signed him on a free transfer, and he began his career with the club's Elite Development Squad, where he was the leading striker in the 2024/25 Premier League 2 season, scoring 16 goals in 15 games.
Mubama made his senior professional debut for City under Pep Guardiola in January 2025, netting in an 8-0 FA Cup win against Salford City.
To obtain consistent senior experience, Mubama joined EFL Championship club Stoke City on a season-long loan for the 2025/26 campaign. Despite missing two months due to a significant ankle ligament injury, he enjoyed a fruitful tenure, ending as the club's third-highest league scorer.
Mubama is well-known for his intense work ethic, physical strength, and superb link-up play. He is also a talented boxer who poses a significant aerial danger.
Internationally, Mubama has starred for England at every junior level, from the U15s to the England U21 national team, where he has an amazing goal-scoring record of five goals in five games.
