The BCCI is exploring options to host the Duleep Trophy final in front of spectators at either Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium or Chennai's M.A. Chidambaram Stadium.
The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai are under consideration to host the Duleep Trophy final from September 6 to 10.
The summit clash was originally scheduled to be held behind closed doors at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) on the outskirts of Bengaluru. However, the BCCI is exploring the possibility of playing at least the final in front of an audience following an assurance from BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia that the governing body would try its best to conduct the match in front of fans.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has expressed its readiness to host the marquee match, while the BCCI has also sounded out Chennai as an alternative venue.
The opening two rounds of the tournament will proceed as scheduled at the CoE without supporters, running from August 23 to 26 and August 30 to September 2. Last season, Rajat Patidar guided Central Zone to the Duleep Trophy title.
