Afridi Buyamayum scored a brace to guide TRAU FC to a 2-1 victory over Indian Navy in their final Group D fixture of the 135th Durand Cup at the Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
Indian Navy dominated the proceedings and put TRAU under heavy pressure with 26 attempts on goal. However, local outfit TRAU FC fought grittily to earn all three points, supported by an inspired performance from goalkeeper Tajuddin.
Buyamayum opened the scoring in the 16th minute against the run of play with a stunning right-footed strike from outside the box. Indian Navy generated 12 attempts in the first half—six of which were on target—and finally equalised in the 46th minute when Khullakpam Zahir Khan took advantage of a defensive lapse.
TRAU withstood the pressure to restore their advantage in the 60th minute via a counter-attack, allowing Buyamayum to complete his brace. TRAU FC finished second in Group D with four points, while Indian Navy placed third with three points. Both teams have been eliminated from the tournament, with debutant group-toppers FC Raengdai advancing to the last-eight.
