Singapore Premier League club FC Jurong, part-owned by Indian firm SkaSports, has secured the signing of former Japan international Keisuke Honda.
Singapore Premier League side FC Jurong, which is part-owned by Indian company SkaSports, announced the signing of former AC Milan and Japan international Keisuke Honda for the 2026-27 season on Saturday.
Daisuke Korenaga, Chairman of FC Jurong, introduced Honda and outlined what the marquee signing brings to the squad. “I am very happy to introduce Keisuke Honda as an FC Jurong player today. This season, we start a new chapter with a new name — FC Jurong. We are very happy to have Keisuke with us. Of course, he is a great player. He has played in three World Cups for Japan and has played football in many countries around the world. But we did not bring Keisuke here just because of his name. What we want is his experience, winning mentality, professionalism and most importantly, his high standards,” Korenaga said.
Korenaga, who also announced Takasago Singapore Pte. Ltd as the club's main partner, emphasized the long-term impact of the move. “I want the next generation of FC Jurong players to learn from what he brings to this club. So, our message is very simple. Win now and build for the future. We want to do both. And today is an important first step in that journey,” he added.
