Unseeded Indian pair Krishna Prasad Garaga and Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy pulled off an upset win over sixth-seeded Thai duo Chaloempon Charoenkitamorn and Worrapol Thongsa-Nga to reach the men's doubles second round at the Korea Masters Super 300 badminton tournament in Asan, Korea, on Tuesday (August 4, 2026).
The Indian pair needed just 42 minutes to see off their higher-ranked rivals 21-16, 21-18.
Garaga and Roy will next face the winner of the match between Singapore's Junsuke Kubo and Jia Hao Howin Wong, and Korea's Young Hyuk Kim and Tae Yang Shin.
It was a disappointing outing for India's other men's doubles pair, as Achutaditya Rao Doddavarapu and Arjun Reddy Pochana crashed out in the opening round, losing 3-21, 10-21 to second seeds Sol Gyu Choi of Korea and Malaysia's V Shem Goh.
In women's doubles, Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Minshra were eliminated by second seeds Ririna Hiramoto and Kokona Ishikawa of Japan, going down 15-21, 13-21.
In the men's singles qualifiers, Tushar Suveer defeated Canada's Shaurya Gullaiya 21-15, 21-12 in the opening round, before losing to Japan's Shogo Ogawa 10-21, 17-21 in the next round.
