England and Bayern Munich star Harry Kane is set to be awarded the European 'Golden Shoe' for the 2025-26 season after finishing as the top scorer in European football. The official trophy presentation will take place on August 19 at the FC Bayern Museum.
This marks the second time the 33-year-old forward has won the accolade, joining an elite group of multi-time winners behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Kane scored 36 goals in the Bundesliga—matching his total from two years ago—and finished as the league's top scorer for the third consecutive season.
Over the entire season, Kane registered 73 goals and eight assists in 65 competitive appearances for club and country. It stands as the second-highest goal tally in a single season in the 21st century, surpassed only by Messi's 91-goal campaign in 2011/12. Kane also became the fastest player ever to reach 100 goals for a club in one of Europe's top five leagues.
Kane's performances helped FC Bayern win the Bundesliga, the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, and the DFB Cup, where he scored a hat-trick in the Berlin final. Internationally, the England captain led his team to the FIFA World Cup semifinals—England's best finish since 1966—and ended the tournament with seven goals, making him the most prolific British player in World Cup history.
Kane becomes the third Bayern Munich player to earn the award, joining Gerd Muller (1970, 1972) and Robert Lewandowski (2021, 2022). Paying tribute to the striker, FC Bayern president Herbert Hainer said Kane "stands alongside striking legends like Gerd Muller and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge at FC Bayern," while CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen hailed him as "the most complete striker of his generation."
