Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey has filed a formal police complaint in South Delhi alleging harassment, fraud, and theft against key federation officials.
Amid the Indian teams' strong performance on the pitch at the Asian Games, off-field administrative disputes within Hockey India (HI) have escalated. HI president Dilip Tirkey has lodged an official police complaint against federation officials and staff, alleging harassment, intimidation, and fraud.
The complaint, dated September 24 and submitted to the DCP, South Delhi office, seeks the filing of a formal FIR against HI Director B.N. Bhushan, suspended Director General Cdr. R.K. Srivastava, and a couple of others.
According to the complaint, charges are sought under provisions for criminal breach of trust, theft, criminal conspiracy, endangerment of life, and wrongful abandonment, as well as an immediate request for the recovery of stolen assets and documents.
Sources revealed that during a visit to the national capital, Tirkey was using a vehicle arranged by HI. The vehicle was allegedly recalled by HI without any intimation to Tirkey while his personal belongings and documents were still inside, after which those involved went incommunicado.
Neither Srivastava nor Bhushan responded to queries regarding the police complaint.
