Pep Guardiola has publicly declared his commitment to Manchester City after an independent panel found the club guilty of dozens of financial violations.
Pep Guardiola has stated he is staying "behind my club" after Manchester City was found guilty of dozens of financial violations during his tenure, in what is widely regarded as the biggest scandal in English soccer history.
According to the league, the alleged financial wrongdoing was worth more than 900 million pounds ($1.19 billion) and was facilitated in part through "sham" commercial deals.
In his first public statement since the independent panel released its report on Tuesday (September 29), Guardiola posted a message on X on Wednesday backing the organisation. "I want every single Man City fan to know I am here; more than ever. I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran, the players, staff, Enzo and you, our unique supporters. Let me be clear: we will get through this together," Guardiola wrote. "I love you all."
The post was accompanied by images of Guardiola wearing a Man City shirt, celebrating with club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, holding the Champions League trophy, applauding supporters, and celebrating the 2023 Premier League title.
From 2016 to 2026 under Guardiola's management, Manchester City won six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, and the 2023 Champions League, alongside various other trophies.
