Algeria midfielder Ismael Bennacer has left Serie A side AC Milan after seven years following the termination of his contract by mutual consent.
AC Milan have announced the departure of midfielder Ismael Bennacer, bringing an end to the Algeria international's seven-year stay at San Siro.
The 28-year-old joined Milan from Empoli in 2019 and went on to make 137 Serie A appearances for the club. He played a central role in their 2021-22 Scudetto triumph, but persistent knee injuries and fitness issues hampered his time at the club, leading to loan spells at Olympique de Marseille and Dinamo Zagreb.
In a brief statement released on Friday, the Serie A club confirmed his exit: "AC Milan can confirm the termination of Ismael Bennacer's contract by mutual consent. The Club would like to wish him all the best for the future."
Bennacer last played a competitive match for the Italian side in 2024 before the two parties agreed to part ways.
