The young forward caught the attention of several clubs after an outstanding World Cup campaign, where Ivory Coast was eventually eliminated by Norway in the round of 32. Despite Leipzig previously maintaining that Diomande was not for sale, Paris Saint-Germain and several Premier League teams were reportedly interested in securing his transfer.
Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer praised Diomande, stating that he "impressed us with his carefree attitude, willingness to learn, and courage from day one." Schäfer added, "He quickly established himself at the highest level with us, showcasing his speed, dribbling skills, and goal-scoring threat," while expressing pride that his performances "garnered significant international attention."
It remains unclear whether Diomande will initially be registered with Real Madrid's B squad. Real Madrid's main squad has undergone a revamp under coach José Mourinho following a disappointing finish to last season, with new additions including playmaker Bernardo Silva, centre back Ibrahima Konaté, right back Denzel Dumfries, and left back Marc Cucurella.
