Jadumani Singh Mandengbam has quickly established himself as one of India's fastest rising boxing talents through a series of impressive performances on the domestic and international circuit. The young Manipur boxer earned his place in the Indian squad for the 2026 Commonwealth Games after winning the national trials and enjoying a breakthrough season that included a silver medal at the World Boxing Cup Finals. During a district-level tournament, Jadumani received encouragement from Indian boxing legends MC Mary Kom and L. Sarita Devi, who rewarded promising young boxers with small cash prizes. The recognition motivated him to pursue boxing more seriously.His family remained a constant source of support, particularly during the ethnic unrest in Manipur, ensuring his training and competitive focus were not disrupted.Rising through the ranksJadumani progressed through the domestic circuit before making his mark at the senior level.He claimed the national title in the 55kg category, establishing himself as one of India's leading boxers in the weight class. His performances also earned him opportunities to compete internationally, gaining valuable experience against top opponents across Asia, Europe and South America.Among his notable results were a quarter-final appearance at the Asian U-22 and Youth Championships and participation at the World Boxing Championships, as he steadily built his international resume.Breakthrough seasonThe 2025 season marked the biggest breakthrough of Jadumani's career.He reached the semi-finals of the World Boxing Cup in Brazil after defeating Great Britain's Ellis Trowbridge before going one step further…
