Vida Kovai Kings Power Past Madurai Panthers to Claim Third TNPL Title in Five Years

M. Shahrukh Khan's Vida Kovai Kings defeated Madurai Panthers by 82 runs in the TNPL-10 final to secure their third championship in five years.

Vida Kovai Kings proved that strong bowling wins championships after defeating Madurai Panthers by 82 runs in the TNPL-10 final. Led by skipper M. Shahrukh Khan, Kovai Kings saved their best performance for the end of the season, winning their last five completed matches to secure their third title in five years.

Since 2022, Shahrukh Khan has captained Kovai Kings to four summit clashes. The team successfully maintained its core setup from its 2023 championship squad, relying on experienced players such as top-order batter B. Sachin and spinners M. Siddharth and Jhathavedh Subramanyan alongside new additions.

B. Sachin shouldered the early batting burden for Kovai Kings and went on to claim both the highest run-scorer and Player-of-the-Tournament awards. Deeban Lingesh swept the bowling honors, winning highest wicket-taker and most dependable player. The tournament also highlighted 18-year-old pacer D. Deepesh, who regularly recorded speeds in excess of 140 kph.

Despite being held across only two venues, TNPL-10 featured batting-friendly pitches that produced the most runs in a single edition of the tournament. The standout displays offer a potential boost for Tamil Nadu's state team, which has struggled to qualify for domestic T20 knockouts since winning its third SMAT title in 2021.
