West Indies were bowled out for 344 just before lunch on Day 2 in Port of Spain, with half-centuries from Justin Greaves and captain Roston Chase giving the hosts a competitive total against Pakistan.
PORT OF SPAIN: The West Indies batters frustrated Pakistan before the home team was bowled out for 344 on the stroke of lunch on Day 2 of the second and final Test.
Justin Greaves top-scored with 73 and captain Roston Chase made a defiant 70 as West Indies posted a creditable total on a pitch already offering plenty of assistance to the slow bowlers.
Off-break bowler Sajid Khan took 4-85 for Pakistan, while left-arm spinner Ali Usman — playing in his second Test — along with Mohammad Ali and debutant Ubaid Shah claimed two wickets apiece.
Resuming the day on 239-5, Chase and Greaves extended their sixth-wicket stand to 96 runs before Usman struck immediately after captain Babar Azam handed him the new ball, with the in-form Greaves caught at point.
Kemar Roach should have been given out lbw without scoring, but Pakistan opted against a television review despite replays suggesting Usman's delivery could have hit leg stump.
Chase went on to complete his half-century before he was dismissed by debutant fast bowler Shah, who nipped one back to bowl him.
West Indies lead the two-match series after a 90-run victory in the first Test.
